Did any of you feel that you were in jail during the last year of undergraduate studies? That's EXACTLY how I feel right now.

I got a cute Hallmark e-card from my Secret Pal that I should be receiving a package by the end of the week. YAY! It'll brighten up my week.

As for the person I'm Secret Pal to, she hasn't updated her blog (neither have I) so I'll probably get her something solely from her Secret Pal Questionnaire.

Due to illness, I dropped my online International Business class which means I'll have more time to know. I STILL have yet to finish my Honeymoon Cami and seam Grace. Did I mention I hate seaming? :-P

Wedding ideas are filling my head where to have the reception, colors, favors, etc. It's kinda fun. Last night I watched Bridezillas on WE and said to myself, "I will NEVER be like that!" We'll see though. As of now we want to be married November 2006. I'd like "fall" colors. Any suggestions?

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high-end/natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you? I like almost everything. I generally lean toward Bernat and Lion Brand when it comes to acrylics. I'm a tactile person, if I like the way it feels I'll buy it and I don't like the way Red Heart "feels." As of late, I obsessed with cotton/cotton blends. Living in Texas, I need cool fibers to get me through the hot, humid summer.

2. Do you spin? Crochet?No spinning, some crochet.

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)Severe allergies to smoke, heavy duty perfumes, and pollen/molds. (I have to take medication everyday.) 100%, itchy wool tends to turn my skin red. But, for some reason, if it's a wool blend I'm okay.

4. How long have you been knitting? Since November 2004.

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? Yep, it's mostly stuff I want but don't need. I've added a few knitting books lately. My Amazon wish list name is: janelyn

6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.) Jasmine or lavender.

7. Do you have a sweet tooth? Of course! I LOVE mini-reese peanut butter cups.

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Simple scrapbooking, cooking, gardening, home decorating.

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) My computer can play mp3s! I like almost everything from Broadway Musicals to Rachmaninoff. It would be easier to tell you what I DON'T like: heavy metal, some rap/hip hop. You won't find me going out to by the latest 50 cent or Metallica CD, if you know what I mean.

10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? I like pink, blue and purple pastels and also vibrant colors in the coral family - reds, oranges, etc.

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? I live with my nerd/fiancee, we have two cats and three dogs.

12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know) I would like to marry my nerd, have a few kids, live in a house, and travel the world.

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? Alpaca, silk blends, wool blends, cotton blends, anything soft! :-)

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? 100%, itchy, scratchy wool - though I am looking for my first felting project ;-)

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s? Finish knitting Honeymoon Cami, then knit a summer blouse that I can wear to work. I'm still searching for a pattern.

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit? Skinny scarves, anything with cables, anything that is seamless. I HATE finishing! I'm just not good at it. :-\

17. What are you knitting right now? Honeymoon Cami

18. What do you think about ponchos? Use to love them, now I'm tired of them. :-P

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Circular

20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? Bamboo

21. Are you a sock knitter? Nope. At least not yet. ;-)

22. How did you learn to knit? Strolled into my LYS to browse and wound up signing up for classes.

23. How old is your oldest UFO? A few months, I started a hat, then got distracted. ;-)

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird? I'm not much into animated characters, but I do love my dogs! They're black/white mixed border collies/chows and a catahoula.

25. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas. It's the time of year when everyone seems to be happy and I spend quality time with my family.

26. Is there anything that you collect? Shot glasses and magnets from various cities, countries, places, picture frames, candles.

27. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have? I use to have a subscription to Interweave but found that I would ooo and ahh over the patterns but never start one. I'm happy to just browse my LYS for magazines and pick one up if I absolutely love it.

28. Any books out there you are dying to get your hands on? Check out my Amazon wishlist.

MANY thanks to my secret pal, Wendi for the stitchmarkers and many other presents since February. I received the stitchmarkers during finals week and didn't have a chance to post a picture. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE them! I changed the markers on my Honeymoon Cami project the minute I received them. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I'm in the last week of classes and have not touched one knitting project since last weekend! After I get through tonight's Finance Test and Monday's Calculus Test, I'll have a week off, then take my Marketing and Calculus Finals, THEN it's off to Jamaica in the same week!!!!!!!

Can you tell I'm super-duper excited!? ;-)

But in the meantime I need to focus or least that's what I tell myself when I catch myself daydreaming about clear, blue water. ;-) I am hoping to finish the Honeymoon Cami in time for the trip. Grace, on the other hand, is on my dining room table waiting to be sewn together and will probably remain that way until I get back. :-\

Oh well! I'm going to Jamaica! :-P
